Working visit of a delegation from the Court of Accountsof the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), led by its President Mr. Segnon Yves Marie ADISSIN

Madame the First President of the Court of Accounts received Mr. Segnon Yves Marie ADISSIN, President of the Court of Accounts of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), on Monday, February 24, 2025, leading a high-level delegation for a working visit to the Court of Accounts, which will continue until February 28, 2025.

During a discussion session, Madame the First President emphasized the Court of Accounts expertise in public finance control and the audit methodology it follows. She also highlighted the strategic directions of the financial jurisdictions, particularly the adoption of a new approach in preparing the annual report, the monitoring of recommendations’ implementation, the commitment to the digital transformation process, and the ongoing reflection on reforming the public managers’ accountability framework. These initiatives aim to enhance public integrity and contribute to improving public governance, which can have a positive impact on citizens.

In turn, Mr. Segnon Yves Marie ADISSIN praised the efforts made by the Court of Accounts to strengthen and promote financial oversight at the continental level. He also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the delegation.

This meeting provided a significant opportunity to explore ways for institutionalizing and strengthening multilateral cooperation between the Court of Accounts and its counterparts in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). This is of particular importance in the context where Morocco plays a central role as the Secretary General of the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI).
